Ink paintings, measured moving images and a silent gallery create space for unhurried looking.
Quiet Lines offers a slower rhythm for the East Wing. Contemporary ink paintings sit beside video works paced by breathing, culminating in a room where sound is removed entirely.
A different pace
Lighting is softened across the exhibition, and benches replace the usual prescribed route. Visitors can remain with one work for as long as they wish. On Wednesday and Saturday mornings, a facilitator begins the day with thirty minutes of guided stillness.
- Recent ink works by six painters
- An eight-seat silent room centred on a single screen
- Guided sessions at 9 am on Wednesdays and Saturdays
- Optional phone pouches during device-free mornings
Booking
Guided sessions are limited to twenty participants and should be reserved early. At all other times, the exhibition is part of general admission.
