Old Collections, New Work, One Shared Address
Historic galleries, changing installations and active studios meet inside our Eldridge Street home.
How Verdigris Row took shape
A Historic Collection with a Contemporary Counterpart
The gallery grew from a private group of nineteenth-century paintings into a public museum with a second voice: a Modern Wing devoted to new work in light, sound and film. The historic rooms follow time; the contemporary spaces are rehung each season.
Artists and curators work in the building together. Drawing materials remain available throughout the galleries, and our interpretation is designed to open discussion rather than close it.

Useful Details for Your Visit
What are the opening hours?
The gallery welcomes visitors from 10:00 to 5:00 every day and remains open until 8:00 on Thursdays. The gallery bar follows the same schedule.
Should I reserve in advance?
Day admission can be purchased when you arrive. Concerts, guided stillness and after-hours drawing have limited capacity, so advance booking is recommended.
Can every space be reached without steps?
Yes, including the Modern Wing mezzanine. The first Sunday of each month begins with reduced-sensory hours from 10 am to noon.
What is available for families?
Admission is free for children under 12, and artist-led drop-in sessions run in the Family Studio each weekend during the winter programme.
